Finally made something workable... for the Community. The Brain Droid is originally from the RTS Star Wars : Galactic Battlegrounds from it's Expansion Clone Campaigns. I recolored it to fit into Yuri's Color Scheme.

I share two versions of the Unit. One without the "Deployable Humper Gun" and one with it.

Credits go to Ensemble Studios for making the Unit Graphics.

The unit is missing many pixels. I assume it was resized down from a bigger version and thus some parts, that became thinner than one pixel, were simply removed.
Especially in the walkanim are lots of pixel on the legs missing.

It's also quite pixelated and could use some anti-aliasing.

Was the source a frame based picture format as well or a 3D-Model?

It's also strange that the unit is firing on the west facing frames with the right arm and on the east facing frames with the left arm.

Blame Ensemble Studios for that. They only made Animations for the North,North West,West,South East & East, They just mirrored the rest of the frames. It was about 50% Bigger actually. (Original Size is my Avatar)

AoE/SWGB don't have much in Animations...

Idle
Dying
Decaying
Firing
Walking

I was contemplating on how to add some anti-aliasing. Basically these ones are just resized down and did some recolor on the non-remap colors.

I could put up the raw files as well if anybody wants to?

If you use xcc mixer/shp builder to resize down, it is always bad to go instantly 50% down as that pixelates bad!!! Best choice is to go 75% so you do 25% reduction and apply it again and result is far better in the end in my experience and you still achieve same size, also preferably you post non-recolored version too as shp builder color replace scripts are not RGB strenght matching so ruin quality (I have my own to do that more accurately)

I used Photoshop, Resized it by Nearest Neighbor as it doesn't apply aliasing. And I recolored them after resizing... so yeah probably bad idea.

Which one of these seems to be the best. Mind you this is supposed to be an infantry so I don't want it to be a giant mech or something...

From Left to Right:
Original - Nearest Neighbor - Billinear - Bicubic Smoother - Bicubic Sharper - Bicubic

Another side question related about it... How many frames is the max for specific sets.

It's Firing Frames are usually around 10 to 12 and the SHP Sequence Builder cuts it off to just 6 or 8.

I.E: Firing, Idle, Walking, Die

Bah. There should be a method of resizing where it applies AA internally but not with the background.

They can be more than SHP Builder allows, I know of infantry having 32 frames for a role... Paradox Device ones, Rami...

But you might end up manually writing the sequence for that.

Having too many frames make infantry Speed= move slower then suggested

you could go to Edit > Preferences > General
and change the 'Image Interpolation' to something like 'Bicubic Sharper' which is best for image reduction
