I almost finished my mod for TS and I'd like to upload it somewhere. I've added new cameo, sound etc. The file would be too big, if it would contain the edited conquer.mix, sounds.mix etc. How can I make this mod file smaller?

Do not edit the game files. Doing that might result of having reinstall the game.
Instead, make a new MIX file in XCC Mix editor.

A new mix file? What name should I give to it? Should I place it in tibsun.mix?

No, dont place anything in the current .mix files. The new mix file is called:

expand02.mix

and put it in your Tiberian Sun directory. In this .mix, you will have voxels, .hva files and ini files and also another file called:

ecache02.mix

This ecache will have all .shp files used by your mod.

someone in this forum talked about sounds02.mix, although I've never tried it myself. But it works if you put the new sounds in the TS dir...

AUDs can go in ecache or expand.

well I know they did for me, I put them in expand I think but I'm not sure. Trial and error is required here I think....

Do I need Firestorm to get this expand thing work? Couse it doesn't work for me. I don't have Firestorm and I don't plan to buy it.

and expandxx should work even without the addon

you could even throw all of it into a zip and one of us will make the expand files. Oh and while i think about it make sure the number after expand.... is 2 DIGIT, for example expand02.mix

I don't want to upload it anywhere couse it isn't 100% finished. Right now I just need somebody to get this expand stuff work and 'beta test' the mod itself. The file is 279KB zipped so it can be send via e-mail.
So if somebody wants to test it and check what's wrong with the expand method please reply with an e-mail address or send me a PM with e-mail address.
