Twisted Insurrection: Tiberian Dawn - Nod Victory

Aftermath of the Dawn

The First Tiberian War saw a great victory for the Brotherhood of Nod, lead by the mysterious Kane. Despite the best efforts of the Global Defense Initiative, the Brotherhood of Nod had gained the upper hand in territory and technology. Through the guidance of Kane, the Brotherhood had successfully outwitted and strategically beaten the Global Defense Initiative and by 1998 the world considered the Brotherhood of Nod the dominant super power.
Whilst the Global Defense Initiative was far from defeated, the Brotherhood had gained enough power, support and territory to carry out the divine plans of Kane to the extent the G.D.I. were unable to stop it.

It was approximately in the year 2000, at the dawn of a new millennium that an impressive newly designed Temple of Nod was constructed in South Africa. Many considered this to be the means of carrying out Kane's divine plans for a Tiberium Future. During and after the construction of the new Temple, Brotherhood Tiberium research and gathering operations increased massively and reports of several Tiberium warhead testings on civilian towns and regions spread loose.
The Global Defense Initiative attempted several covert and espionage operations to uncover the secrets of this advanced Temple, however very little was gathered, the Brotherhood had their secrets and plans well hidden. Four months after the construction of the new Temple of Nod however, disaster struck...

You Can't Kill the Messiah

The immortality and the great powers held by Kane was a strong belief among the Brotherhood. It was Kane after all who had lead the Brotherhood to glory and constructed such a large and extensive army out of nothing, literally from the shadows. In late 2000, a dark announcement was broadcast among the Brotherhood, not believed and protested by many, however the message was loud and clear. Kane, the messiah was missing and presumed dead.

Considered a trick, or a hoax, many members of the Brotherhood refused to believe the news of Kane's demise and simply ignored it, however as the months passed by with no sign of Kane, it became more and more believable that, perhaps the messiah had met his demise? During these months the Brotherhood had simply been inactive and was very slowly losing its firm grip on the world, the great power of Nod was left without a leader, like a snake without a head, there was no guidance for the Brotherhood.

Something had to be done. With Kane now considered officially missing and / or presumed dead, it was time for a new power to step up from within the Brotherhood.

The Inner Circle

The demise of Kane, had been a disastrous blow for the Brotherhood, one of which it may not have been able to recover. For Nod, this lead to a great confusion among the soldiers, leaders and many people whom which belonged to the Brotherhood. The confusion eventually lead to chaos, and a complete lack of organization and leadership, most commanders were used to simply referring to Kane for all orders and would only pledge themselves to the will of Kane.
This chaos and blow to the Brotherhood provided a great opportunity for the Global Defense Initiative to take advantage of the lack of leadership, and for several months the G.D.I. mounted a strong and highly successful campaign against the Brotherhood.

The situation for Nod was becoming increasingly dire. Before it was too late, and all was lost, a new power from within the Brotherhood stood up, and assumed control. The Inner Circle. The Inner Circle was comprised of Nod's greatest generals and commanders, and those who had personally worked closely with Kane himself. Their objectives initially were very simple; to provide a strong level of command and leadership over the Brotherhood until the return of Kane and to ensure the survival of Nod.
At first this new power and leadership was welcomed by the Brotherhood and it was through the Inner Circles quick decisiveness and firm commanding approach that the Brotherhood managed to regain control of the battles with the G.D.I. and put a stop to the G.D.I. victories.

After months and years, the Inner Circle became somewhat tired of waiting for the return of Kane, the messiah. The Brotherhood, whilst capable of defending itself, was not moving in any particular direction and was simply a large and determined force with no real intentions or motives. The Inner Circle at this point made a large, and perhaps fatal decision for the Brotherhood...
Nod was to continue according to the Inner Circles orders and would carry out the Inner Circles interpretation of Kane's vision, however, it was made official throughout the Brotherhood that Kane was considered truly, dead. Unsurprisingly, many members of the Brotherhood who had devoted themselves to Kane found this to be a great insult, and only shortly after the Inner Circles new plans, large members of the Brotherhood who considered themselves to be true believers of Kane simply drifted away from the command of the Inner Circle.

The New Brotherhood

Since the death of Kane was marked official, and the Brotherhood was solely operated and lead by the Inner circle, this Nod has been referred to as The New Brotherhood. The New Brotherhood stands as the Inner Circles Brotherhood of Nod, and is the term used to describe the faction of Nod which operates outside of Kane and truly believes Kane to be dead. Whilst many members of Nod accepted these new ways there was also a large amount who did not.

Thousands upon thousands or Kane loyalists, now referred to as the Old Brotherhood simply drifted away from the Inner Circles command sphere. The Old Brotherhood, whilst being a dangerous force has been highly inactive, and if anything, appears to have vanished from the face of the Earth. It's believed the Old Brotherhood will remain dormant until the rise of Kane and the messiahs will is once again made heard.

Despite losing many soldiers and members, the New Brotherhood still stands a highly organized and dangerous military force, with a strong emphasis on advancement through technology and progressing the research of Tiberium. Many new Tiberium advancements have been made and strange new areas of technology such as advanced robotics divisions have been opened and explored.
The New Brotherhood believes that through their pursuit of advanced technology they will be able to overcome the G.D.I. and any other enemies that stand in their way.

A Tiberian Earth

After years of intense war and fighting, alongside the infestation of Tiberium, the world is not what it once was. Bright blue skies and fields abundant with wildlife and vegetation is now a long forgotten pleasant memory. Such memories are now replaced with a sickly, toxic atmosphere and bare barren deserts as far as the eye can see.

The Earth, has become a very difficult place to live. Some people however, are fortunate enough to live safe from the threat of Tiberium, living safe in populated cities, with access to food, water and transportation. Unfortunately, most cities have the threat of Tiberium replaced with the constant threat of war and invasion.
Living in a Brotherhood controlled city can be considered worse than fending for oneself in the barren wastelands. Brotherhood cities are heavily controlled and monitored, with brutal military enforcement's bestowed onto the civilian population. Nod controlled cities are more like large war production factories than safe places to live, covered in the fumes of industry and polluted with smoke littered skies.

On the other side of the battlefield are the towns and cities which lay under the protection and governing of the G.D.I. Whilst not as brutal or as war focused as the Brotherhood towns and cities, G.D.I. residential areas do have a strong military sense and war theme, encouraging the population to fight for their freedom and a Tiberium free world, rather than forcing workloads and the war effort onto them.

Global Defense Initiatives

After what many considered during the First Tiberian War a defeat, the Global Defense Initiative had become very restricted in their actions and operations. Whilst not technically beaten or destroyed, the huge gain in territory by the Brotherhood and the loss of key areas was seen as a defeat in the eyes of many. However, despite this, the Global Defense Initiative was nowhere near defeated.

Whilst the Brotherhood may have had the advantage late during the first Tiberian War, the loss of Kane, and command issues lead to a series of G.D.I. military victories, and temporarily both of the factions were even. Whilst fighting the threat of the Brotherhood is the primary goal of the G.D.I., their secondary goals are mainly focused to relocating and protecting the civilian population, whether it be from Tiberium or the Brotherhood.

As Tiberium has increasingly ravaged the Earth, relocation programs have become major goals and projects of the G.D.I., some relocation's even making the jump from Earth, to outer space, where specially designed residential space stations and towers have been constructed. Back on Earth however, the G.D.I. are now facing themselves against what is considered a new, more lethal enemy, the New Brotherhood. After the quick re-establishment of the Brotherhood, and the creation of the Inner Circle leadership, Nod has become increasingly more aggressive in their military operations and much more advanced in their weaponry and arsenal.

A Corporate World

The introduction of Tiberium to Earth provided great opportunities in wealth to some and to others, massive financial disaster. Only the most powerful companies and corporations were able to survive the change Tiberium brought to the economy. Nearly all small businesses were wiped out or bought out by newly formed "Super Corporations".
These new Super Corporations were the merge of many powerful companies and corporations which decided to capitalize on Tiberium. Harvesting Tiberium was not the only way of making money, and even so, Tiberium Harvesting was strictly forbidden by the Global Defense Initiative, no matter how much money the Super Corporations tried to grease them with.

The most successful Super Corporation to emerge from the Tiberian era is the GloboTech Corporation. GloboTech was the result of many companies from around the globe banding together their power, wealth and influence to create a Super Corporation.
GloboTech rose to an unsurpassed financial level due to their wide market of Tiberium related products and manufactured goods. Ranging from simple electronic appliances to large and protective wall barriers, GloboTech soon took over as the leading Super Corporation, and very quickly became the lead in global manufacturing and goods supplying.

The role GloboTech played initially was rather small, especially during the First Tiberian War, it was in fact the First Tiberian War which allowed GloboTech to rise to power, and gave the need for new goods and products to be made. Unsurprisingly, GloboTech has been recognized as an influential power by both the Brotherhood of Nod and the Global Defense Initiative. Whilst the corporation plays no direct role in the conflicts between the two warring factions, GloboTech has been known to financially back particular battles and / or to have provided arms and weaponry to either sides.

GloboTech official CEO's have stated that they have "no particular loyalty to either of the two fighting factions, as their markets extend well and truly beyond both borders or the two sides. Allying with only one of the conflicting sides would mean to cut off supplies completely to the other, which could result in a profit loss of easily 50%, no matter which faction was allied with."
Whilst it has been made very clear that GloboTech will not become directly involved in the world conflicts between the Brotherhood and the Global Defense Initiative, this has not stopped attempts by both G.D.I. and Nod, to attempt an ally with the corporation. A corporation with such financial power and influence, especially with the civilian dependence on GloboTech could be a powerful trump card in either the G.D.I.'s or Brotherhoods arsenal.

The Balance of Power

The year is now 2037. The Tiberian World now stands with a very uncertain fate. The two most powerful and influential forces on the planet are trapped in a never ending dead lock of war and combat. Whilst the Global Defense Initiative has suffered many blows and military defeats, the faction itself still stands strong and has shown the world its amazing ability to endure harsh punishments and has recovered much lost ground.
The Brotherhood of Nod has struggled and triumphed over its enemies, only for its victory to be short lived by the death of Kane the Messiah, causing an ever lasting deterioration through the Brotherhood and leading to defeats and chaos amongst the large faction.

With the end of the First Tiberian War comes the dawn and age of a new, second Tiberian War, with new terrifying possibilities and potential. The fate of Earth lies dangerously unknown. Welcome to the Twisted Insurrection commander.

(A Huge thanks to Morpher for giving me such a big help with the overall story)

TBH, the story is far too simple at the moment. Just three factions? And where are the nationalistic lobbies, the small generals fighting for their causes, the traitors, the exiled, the neutral, the extreme right- and left-winged factions?

Not all mods involve 20 plus factions you know Gosho. This is the general overall story, In order to keep the campaign secretive we left out particular bits, otherwise it'd actually ruin the campaign once TI is finally released.

You all realize that Globotech and all the other super corperations are not factions, right? There are only two playable factions...

GDI and the 2 Brotherhoods. #Tongue

I know not separate playable factions but in the story... they seem divided.

Ah, I see. I guess we'll just have to wait and play the campaign then #Tongue

And btw, you do have some small errors, like repeating words and commas where there should be none. But it's still quite good.

Yes, from what I see, this is just the prologue to the campaign, the general direction in which the conflict is going.

Can somebody list the territories under the control of the four factions?

New Brotherhood (Inner Circle and CABAL), GDI, Globaltech, and the Old Brotherhood (Black Hand Elite and other very powerful splinter forces)

I think the Old Brotherhood should be composed of Elite Black Hand Cyborg Enhanced Tiberium units! (AKA VERY FREAKING OVERPOWERED!)

IIRC there is no CABAL and most of the territories are scourged by the thorns and tiberium infection.Aro would be the best person to ask for a Territorial map or info since he is the creator. Smile

The entire Africa remained under Brotherhood supervision after the First Tiberium War. They also gained control of the Middle East, much of Central and South America, and Indochina. GDI remained strong in North America, Brazil, Oceania, Japan & Korea, Russia and Europe (except the Balkans where Nod's influence grew through and after the war).

GloboTech owns no countries or territories per se, only smaller or larger facilities, and even some cities in GDI-friendly regions.

After the Brotherhood split, the loyalist faction controlled most of Africa, and the seperatists being strongest at densely populated areas such as the Indian plateau, and remote regions of South America where conventional guerilla warfare was deeply rooted over advanced and experimental weaponry.

TL;DR: Look at how many sax I give.

That's a good answer if you threw away the thorn infestation and no go zones for carbon based life forms but it cuts the cake so it's still valid until proven otherwise(obviously I have no clue how the tiberium and thorns will take away land by random biological overpopulation). Smile

I would like to request to make the campaign missions a lot easier than before because the missions are bit too frustrating than fun especially in the globetech GDI missions in which the Globetech units are insanely hard even in easy mode so I suggest changing the missions and making it a little easier for player who can't keep up or who are not that good in strategy. All you guys did was change normal label of the campaign to easy which makes no difference at all. Thank you.
