Release Notes
=============

This shps were made by raminator using the ra3-sample-art.
all credits for the basic 3d-model go to EA, all credits for modification, textures and shpifying go to me (raminator) #Tongue

This Unitpack is supossed to be an replacement for Soviet Infantry.
It is just a demo, so there´s still no seperate firing sequence for all infantry types and colors and size may change in the future.

currently the pack consists of:
- soviet Conscript
- Soviet Flaktrooper
- Soviet Flametrooper

in the future there will be atleast 6 more guys for your pleasure:
- allied Machinegunner
- allied Bazookatrooper
- allied Combatengineer
- yuri Machinegunner
- yuri Bazookatrooper
- yuri Chaoswarrior (basicly a modified soviet Flametrooper)

and if everything goes well there should be even some RA3 Japanese stuff aswell Wink

The infantry look like turds with weapons. It's an okay start, but it seems to need a lot of work. Way too blurry and messy.

worked on the textures...looking a lot better now...
they still don´t fit the vanilla RA2/YR infantry...
but this is not my intention.
i know how to make them look similar, but i just don´t want to #Tongue

testing now allied units ingame and later rendering the yuri units...

so an update likely today

If they don't fit with the new infantry and there's not a full set of replacements, it's not really that worthwhile to use since the two sets don't blend well. Even if the new infantry look better, still won't fit with RA2 and vice-versa. Might want to consider making them RA2 workable since you apparently "know how to do it."

suggestions? besides making them more look like ra2/yr...

btw...the guys with the tiny remap spots are yuri infantry...
obviously need to work on those textures....

but working the last 6 hours on this 9 shapes makes me need a lil break

Because no-one fires their weapons while standing straight up. You'd just trip off after firing an assault rifle if you did.

I like the latest posted units. I'll most likely be using your work Rami. Smile

EDIT: To be honest, most of these units are just fine as they are if you just do a simple color replacement. Ace work, Rami. Would love to see a full set done, or maybe a few custom units.

The new set is a hell of a lot better. Most of them could easily blend into the RA2 infantry very well, even without any work. Now this is what I'm talking about. But if you could make them RA2 perfect, rami, you would be my fucking HERO. #Tongue

the problem is that if i want to make them fit more RA2-inf i need to make them look crapier...
nahh...joke...have some ideas in mind for the sovs...
it´s just some texture edit
but then again it´s 3400 frames rendering for each unit #Tongue

Downloaded. The Soviet infantry are perfect. I'll also probably be updating my Allied rocket launcher and using a few others in Yuri's army.

I think when the pack is complete, should definitively be spotlighted.

There are few if any decent shp infantry which have been basically done by scratch (i.e not copy and paste/recolors)

I already said why in this thread. Without a complete set, they don't fit in with existing infantry, which is somewhat of a problem. Hence why they need work either from rami or from the user. They're close, really close, but need a teeny bit more refining.

They fit in just fine, have you even tried them ingame? My infantry I use in my pics don't stand out one bit.

I agree with Fen. Yours are edited not to mention in a mod that has a totally different colour scheme to the original game so I don't think it really counts. :p

I can totally assure you guys that the Yuri units fit to RA2 Yuri and the Soviet Flak Trooper and Conscript also fits to the Soviets, without any work. (tho both should be replaced at the Soviets)

The Allied is the only one which doesn't fit to RA2 Allies.
