Hey does this even work ?

I set the range much much higher and when enemy units start to attack they just sit there.

Also something seems wrong because if there is a column of enemy units and you send a squadron of Hornets or Gunships to attack a unit, instead of them destroying the unit and then start to pick other units in the column they either fly back or land on the ground right near the enemy units to get destroyed.

this means that you have to micromanage the entire attack and if there are Harvester near by you can end up selecting them by accident a pull them away from their harvesting.

IIRC its the behaviour of aircraft.
I experimented a bit, but whenever I enabled the 'auto-hunting', I would end up with sever side effects (indestructible aircraft, or when destroyed it would leave an indestructible debris, which you can select but not command)

Isn't this caused by making an aircraft heal itself, either via the flag or a veteran ability? I've never heard a script action causing it too.

I just read that it has to do with the weapons range so I will experiment.

I dabbled with it via rules.ini - that time I actually changed an aircraft to an flying vehicle. IIRC anyway ^^ The debris one was caused by giving an aircraft hover, I think. Well, I just experimented in some weird ways to see what would happen.

If memory serves, Aircraft don't respond to guard/area guard commands and have to be micro'd.
