i was wondering about tiberium and it
being remappble so can the tiberian fiend be
remapped to a diff colour?

anything that has red on it and is a unit. will remap.

specifically anything that holds the unitem/sno palette and uses the colors red or in the same area as the red info. (palette=color info embedded in the .shp) will remap.

SHPs do not have their palettes embedded. They are paletteless sequences of images with indexes to a colour on any given 256 colour palette. The palette used can be any palette, however the game does obviously have appropriate palettes for everything. The red shades on the unittem/unitsno/uniturb palettes are hardcoded to be remap. (Except for those 4 lonesome shades close to the end of the palette.

right thanks for the clarification,

I meant indexed, but slipped.. and those red hues can be any color but anything within those same indexes will be 'remappable" so its not just a color specific.

advantage of external palettes is you can rename them and swap them or make your own custom ones to suit your needs. although your limited to 256 colors.

which yes would not function if what I mistakenly said before was true. >.<
