Er, allow me to offer a more thorough explanation... VQA's are a type of movie files Westwood uses for their in-game movies. I believe they're used for Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, maybe Renegade, and possibly Generals...

But since Westwood really invented the VQA's, there's currently no way to convert other kinds of movies into VQA's... Only programs to convert VQA's back into AVI's (a more common filetype).

And sadly, there's no way to get the game to use AVI's or some other common filetype.

That's why I started up the AVI>VQA Project.

And now you are informed Wink.

You're right. VQA was used in TD, RA and TS. RA2 uses .BIK and I dont know what Renegade and Generals use.

RA2/YR and Renegade use .bik

I don't know about Generals because I don't have it.

Do we have anything that converts AVI's to Bik's? (I'm assuming we don't) if not, we could see how different bik's are from vqa's, and maybe kill two birds at once...

But VQA's are the main important thing to focus on.

they created the bik format. It's called Bink Technology.

Terror is right. It was a reply to the AVI-> VQA research, I just did my moderating job... might be a bit strict sometimes, but if you look at the description of the TS:ATC, you will understand that questions and doubts go here while researchs go there...

the SDK that they distribute doesnt seems to help Sad

VQA is a format rarely used... I think it was created by Westwood and only used by Westwood.

Try searching the internet for VQA filetypes, you'll probably only find it around westwood-related stuff...
