I have an infantry unit that fires a laser, and when he's on the ground crawling, the laser appears way above him. Any way to fix this, with another FLH, perhaps?

Just don't let him crawl. In art.ini there shoudl ebe crawls=yes change it to crawls=no?

unless u make the firing animation part of the actual infantry (which is possible) then its impossible

u can either set the offset to look good when hes standing or look good when hes crawling but both... impossible

That's an idea I hadn't considered before... give the weapon an exact range (minimum and maximum) and put the laser blast to that range in the infantry's image. It'd work, but it'd be way too much work. I'd rather just knock off the crawling part. Thanks anyway.

it wouldnt be too too much

the advantage with this way is u can make unit specific firing (without having to go through adding animations changing offsets, seeing if it looks ok on the specific units etc etc

something u might want to think about for future infantry (I assume your making more for your mod from what we have discussed)

Oh, one more question... Is there any way I can extend the number of firing frames? Like instead of 6 per direction, could it be, say, 15 per direction? Is that easy to reference in the infantry sequence?

yea easy u can make it 100 frames if u want

just change the sequence youve specified for it accordingly in the art.ini

Er... no... changing that modifies where the projectile for the unit's primary weapon comes out. I don't know whether you were talking about extending the firing animation's frames or the difference between firing standing upright and laying on the ground, but in either case, you're wrong.

To extend the number of frames in the firing animation you would obviously edit something in the infantry sequence... And the PrimaryFireFLH controls where the projectile comes out both standing up and crawling. Basicly, standing up and crawling have the exact same location that the projectile comes out. So if you configure this line so it looks good when you're firing a visible projectile and standing up (which is what most people would do) then when you're crawling it will look like the projectile is coming out of thin air above you. And visa versa, if you tried to make it look nice when you fire from the ground, the projectile would come out from between your legs when you're standing up.

Or did I misunderstand you?
