It seems this worldbuilder is full of fail. I cannot get it to open maps from kane's wrath (after I had deleted everything save the terrain). Once that failed several times, I tried to export a hieght map, and it worked on the KW end, however, the RA3 WB was unable to open it. Also sometimes when I open up worldbuilder, there will be the menus and toolbars and stuff, but no screen! I can see clear through to my desktop! Does anyone else have this problem? If I was able to reopen my KW maps, I could have 30 maps for you guys by the end of the weekend...

Edit: Then apparently, DaFool has failed to make it work. Something is setup incorrectly.

Erp, actually all the previous WBs were able to open maps from SAGE games released earlier. Apparently, they all save the terrain the same way. RA3 WB can even open TW maps FYI. You might want to get your facts straight before calling others a moron.

Try and use "Disable desktop ... (dunno what it is in english)" in the compatibility mode (one-to-last checkbox in the settings part). It looks like it worked for me... Also, don't try to switch between different windows while using the WB. I had problems with it too.
I am glad they did fix the CPU leak the TW/KW version had Smile

I ran a couple of tests...

The ra3 worldbuilder DID NOT open up maps made from the Kane's Wrath WB. It DID open maps made for Zero Hour.

Both the KW and RA3 WB exported hieghtmaps, yet niether could open them. (Both came up with the message "file wrong size") I tried changing the size of the map to fit the dimensions of the file, but to no avail.

The closest thing I got to success was when I saved a map from the KW WB to my desktop, and then tried to "open from .tga" (The minimap KWWB makes). What I got was something that looked nothing like the map I had made, just two platues. However, it made the map size 128x128. I then tried "import hightmap", using these dimensionss for the map, and It worked. see the picture. The slopes were lost, and the shape of the map was turned into a square, and it's 128x128. So after alot of tweaking and expirimenting (with no mention of anything covered in the manual) I was able to get this lousy little map up.

Meh, I got the WB up and running, I was actually surprised that it was actually sort of easy to use.

I was going to make a Soviet vs Allies map on the Marne, had even chosen location and all for it.
Unfortunately, I had difficulty getting water to display and just stopped using it for the time being.

Later on, I went through the sound list of the game, and found some interesting RA2 VOs-
Allied GI: "Who's next?!"
Soviet Engineer: "Something need fixing?"
Soviet Engineer: "Need a repair?"
Soviet Engineer: "I know how it works."

And about 100 VOs for the Havana mission, many of them unused ingame...
Apparently the original set-up was Co-Commander had a Mirage and the Player had 4 Assault Destroyers, and Giles at one point indicates the targets of the Kirovs to be Washington D.C., Paris, London, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
