Since I've by some luck gotten my hands back on my Total Annihilation CDs
I was looking for some mods for it(Iheard it had quite a modding scene in its prime time).

Then my eye caught the spring engine.
After trying some mods it looked pretty damn promising to me.

But the problem is most of those mods have crappy looking units, giving me a hard time defending it from flamers.
But the possibilities seem limitless to me...

I really hope a team of skilled modders gives it a try so I can show my friends what this gem is really capable of.

It caught my eye to but since i am/was pretty pants at making 3D models i game attempting to "create" on it a miss, as for the mod some look good but ive yet to see one which looks great.

If something came along which displayed the full graphical potential i would defenatly consider it however i still wish to find that 2D open-source game engine to use instead of it (most of my ideas would work better in a game engne like TS's compaired to say the Sage 3d engine)

I prefer to finish my current project before moving on to another one. I do want to do something with the Spring engine some time.

The interface, I found, was a little clumsy.
But since (iirc) the engine is open source, I can see Spring getting to be a better bet in the future.

I tested it for about 3 hours yesterday and it required me to go back to the internet to get a mod/map maker. I downloaded a map and a mod but then it crashed. There is a future with this but needs a lot of work.

You're doing it wrong.

Also, Spring Engine is very flexible, thanks to it's LUA support, also, deformable terrain Very Happy

I did get it to work and I do like the deformable terrain. Launched a rocket into some of the AI's tanks and took them out.
