Im guessing not to many people care for TS maps anymore but i made a map after so long! Seems a little to small tho.. anyways whoever wants to check it out can.[/i]
Looks nice, but the Tiberium patches have a tad too bright lighting. And as you can see, the bridge repair huts (and other buildings that use unitem/-sno palette) appear brighter than their surrounding. When you edit a map's lighting, try to keep the Red, Green and Blue values close to 1.0 or this will happen.
I also spot a few errors with the cliffs. _________________
Indeed, your map fits in perfectly with those of Tiberian Sun's standard maps so good job with keeping the classic look (if that's what you was aiming for). I always have something to complain about though, but I'm mostly just going to emphasize on what Crimsonum said:
- The green lighting around the Tiberium fields is far too bright, they could do with some general tweaking and down-toning.
- There are many cliff errors that can be seen in the pictures alone, follow this tutorial for how to place cliffs correctly.
- The detailing level is quite good, not over the top and not too little detailing, but the map would still benefit from some more bits here and there. Try to avoid repeating the same water tiles and cliffs over and over again as it becomes an eye-sore if you see the specific tile too often, especially if you place several right next to each other. Also, where you can, avoid creating straight-edge slopes, blocky slope areas are an eye-sore.
- The overall lighting is decent, but try to keep the RGB values as close to 1.0 as you can otherwise UnitTem.pal and UnitSno.pal will become luminous.
- Make sure you edit the Map Border values under the Edit menu for the bottom half of the map. The last two digits in the section are for the bottom of the map, I always decrease those two digits by 4 so I know which part of the map gets cut off in-game. If those white parts still exceed the map borders, keep decreasing the number until the blue border passes them, and you wont have any errors in-game.
- There is a shore error underneath one of the bridges.
- Try to avoid placing Tiberium right next to or on top of grass, otherwise Crash will fart bullets (Inside joke, not really a point you have to follow).
Overall though, a good classic-looking map. Keep it up. As for people caring about Tiberian Sun maps, you would be surprised. I don't even play Vanilla Tiberian Sun anymore, but even I enjoy seeing a new map being made once in a while. QUICK_EDIT
Pretty good work with this map. I love to see TS maps being made. Last edited by PePsiCola on Sun Apr 22, 2012 3:34 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
