Uhh. I need a detailed info. Seems like the tutorial from the Final Sun itself lacks something. I deleted this topic once but I think I won't be deleting this one anymore. On the other hand, I had already made some progress from my WIP Nod Firestorm campaign.

I learned SP mapping (actually ALL my aping) by looking at existing maps, which featured something I wanted to make in my own map.

Once you have a good handle on trigers, taskforces, teams, and scripts, I found singleplayer mapping will pretty much come naturally.

Hrmm. What about a Nod player with a GDI eva? How could that be possible? I believe Final Sun can do that.

Look at the original Firestorm missions how it was done. There are several right after CABAL betrayed the brotherhood and where Slavik steals a GDI EVA.

Shouldn't be anything spectacular, something like
[Basic]
Player=GDI
to get the GDI interface
and then use
[Nod]
PlayerControl=yes

If you only want to change the EVA used, you manually set SpeechSide= flag under [Basic] section of the map file to either GDI or Nod, whichever you like. This is how it was done in those Firestorm missions. Of course this does not change the UI. For that you have to do what LKO said above.

Actually, Finalsun doesn't have an option for this. Instead you'll have to open the map in a text editor and add SpeechSide=GDI under [Basic].

Depends on what he exactly means, if he wants to play as GDI, with Nod tech, then he should just do what LKO said.
If he only wants the EVA to be different, he has to import INI. Doesn't FS have that too? INI Import/Editing section?

The -1 refers to the group of the taskforce. When teams are created from units that are already present on the map and you want to assign specific units to a taskforce, using groups is a good way to ensure that exactly the unit you want will be assigned to the team (the group assigned to the unit that's placed on the map just has to correspond to the group that's assigned to the taskforce).

As Bittah explained, it will then try to recruite the units on the map that have Group 2 assigned.

Hrmm. Moving on another question. The trigger where in like the camera moves automatically without the Battle Control. How do I do that especially the EVA will say "Establishing Battlefield Control. Stand by"

Not entirely sure what the script ID's are, but afaik it's this order you need.

For what? If a trigger requires a waypoint, then yes. You place the waypoint on the map from the left side of your screen, under 'Waypoints'
