-it needs proper lighting. currently there is no bright south-west and shadowed north-east side. Thus it looks flat. The legs for example are just a noise grey colored flat area, not some round object with bright SW side and darker SE side.

-it needs antialiasing. It's too pixelated right now. Don't care about remap being anti-aliased into normal colors. When using the right (custom) palette for color conversion, it will still find right remap colors.
Just remove unnecessary colors from the conversion palette, so they can't be mixed up. e.g. red remap anti-aliased into metallic grey texture can lead to golden/brown colors which during conversion would use those instead of red remap. So just remove those golden/brown colors from the conversion palette and you have nice smooth red remap next to smooth metallic grey.

-some more frames for different anims would be nice. more death anims, cheer anim, parachute anim etc

Agreed with LKO on most of his points. Lighting especially. This is a good start though.

Off the subject of the infantry itself, when including previews, try to use a loss-less format like PNG.

They looks like crumpled garbage bins or something... as stated above, lighting will help, but you might need to accentuate some proportions like WW did to make it clearer.
