I recently updated TI to the latest version (0.40.36),and I have a question about the ModMode option: In which file can I find that option? Is it added in an INI file by default,or do I have to add it myself?

Well, the file was suppose to be the MainClient.ini in the Resource folder but TI's MainClient.ini lacks the ModMode entry in the INI. Tiberian Sun + Firestorm client changelog indicates you type down "true" (without quotation) to the ModeMod entry in the MainClient.ini to activate ModMode.

Correct. If TI's MainClient.ini doesn't have the entry, you can just add ModMode=true there and it will work.

Before enabling, please make sure that you understand what ModMode does though:
TS Client MainClient.ini wrote:
; Enable ModMode to automatically skip the version mismatch dialog and to disable the updater.
; This will make your game version show up as "N/A" on CnCNet.
; Note that this will _ENTIRELY DISABLE_ the updater, meaning that to revert your build
; to the official one, you'll need to set this to "false" again.

It means that you won't get official updates anymore as long as you have it enabled.
