Prologue: Ashes to Ashes

The war seemed to have raged forever. The forces of the greatest empires this universe has ever known, fighting in a near-apocalyptic seemingly endless battle for supreme dominance and the right to be crowned the unquestionable ruler over all his or her cruel blade touches. These empires were legendary for their great machines of war and mass legions of loyal soldiers and fanatic zealots. The Xerxes Imperium held that their emperor was a direct descendant of the Titan-Lord who led it's people during the Ten Thousand Year Empire (A time when the Xerxes Imperium held over 90% of the universe in it's grasp), thus, it seemed only logical for the great Emperor Justicar Diomedes Xerxes III to inherit the universe by divine right. This was swiftly challenged by the Tiberian Confederation who defended the freedoms of both it's own people and the people of the universe. At the helm of the TC's military operations was it's Lord President Jason Aquilla of the House Aquilla. The way Jason saw it, he was merely continuing what his ancestors did during the Great Wars of Separation And Unification (It is a little-known fact that the Xerxes Imperium began on Tiber and was not officially established until the Great Exodus from Tiber to Knossos). Many other kingdoms, empires, and republics of various forms participated in the war...and many of these kingdoms and empires fell into the dust....however....when the dust cleared, the forces of the Tiberian Confederation and it's allies stood victorious over the until-then unbeatable Xerxes Imperium....

...That was how it could have ended...

Youthful, wander lustful eyes peered across the vast plane of destruction that seemed to expand in all directions before him. His long blonde hair whipped in the wind, obscuring his sight only briefly. The war was over...but at what cost? Ever since the Confederation left, rebels ran rampant through the streets of every major city on this world...

Sounds like an Epic Roman battle that got so far off that nobody even knows this universal war ever occurred. The likely reason could be that they blew themselves back to the stone age! =P

Nice reference to the Tiber there, albeit mostly coincidental I guess.
