The Mobile SAM Battery is a fairly recent addition to the Brotherhood's arsenal. The Nod Lancer, as it is commonly referred to, is a highly mobile but lightly armored vehicle. The Mobile SAM works in conjunction with Nod communication networks to provide it with targeting information, a feature that many point out as being a fault. Another questionable feature is its need to stay in one position in order to fire at enemy threats, causing some to question its usefulness.

NOTE: The Lancer is a campaign only unit.

I will be interesting to see it ingame, although I agree that the idea of the deployable SAM is a good one.

It looks like a very good combination between
the Renegade NOD Stealth Tank and the MLRS!!!

Disappointed. Sad I was expecting to see the mobile sam that you'd see in Renegade servers. A truck with the actual building spawned in the truck bed.

You say that as if its not going to make an appearance. Cool

This thing, despite its description, is an incredibly dangerous foe, having almost twice the range of the SAM site, but, (thanks to map triggers) it doesn't work without the command vehicle. This is more of a campaign unit than it is a skirmish unit.

Also, the pictures have been updated. One picture doesn't do this thing justice.

I'm intrigued at the return of such a hodgepodge fan creation. Its a nice voxel, by the way. It seems like it belongs in the universe of Renegade nicely. I'd consider changing the quad treads out though, but whatever. its nice. :3

The normal shape and design is very good, but i dislike the turret being the whole upper part. Imo the cockpit should stay fixed to the chassis and only the missile launcher should rotate.

I like it this way, it also eliminates the problem with the TurretOffset flag.

Since it (if i understand correct) deploys, the turretoffset is no problem. It's also no problem since this is using afaik the RA2 engine and not TS.

Agreed - having the whole upper part rotate makes it looks to much like the Stealth Tank. Confused
Aside from that it is a very cool design Smile

The missile launcher is too massive to rotate alone, makes it look better that the whole upper body turns. Also reminds me a lot of the BUK http://warfare.ru/0702ey70/pictures/buk.jpg

A matter of taste.

I see a stealth tank rotating his MARLBORO cigarets like a BUK XD

It was loosely based on the BUK, good eye. I don't want Nod using anything that is directly ripped from "real life" in TD:R. Nod will not be using the G6 or the Apache as a duplication of the units. They will somewhat look like them, but they won't be direct copies.
