CnCNet reaches a player peak of 253 players!

After the release of CnCNet 5 it has rapidly grown. We have broken our old record of 200+ players at peak (achieved last week), the new peak is 253! With 70 games being played simultaneously.

It's very nice to see the interest in CnCNet rising. We will continue to improve the service as time goes by by fixing bugs and improving performance where possible. Smile

Well, the previous peak was 203... and you didn't see how nicely they jumped for joy on #cncnet after they passed the 250 mark.

Either way, it's certain now that CnCNet5 is a success.

I doubt. There are a consiant 100-200 people every day just on CnCNet5. MO also adds 10-40 people for that.

Thanks guys! Yeah it's definitely peaking because of the cold weather outside and the holidays, hope we'll get consistent numbers over the next two weeks and even a new record. In the future we want to have at least a small but stable TS player base. We also hope adding a ladder system will increase activity.

Sadly the C&C community as a whole is pretty dead right now so we're spreading mostly by word of mouth. CnCNet 5 is an external client (like Westwood Chat) so you can have it open while doing other things and we have < 20 MB downloads for C&C1, RA1 and TS on cncnet.org/download so the barrier of entrance is low and the level of convenience is pretty high.

We're also starting to see quite a bit of new 'regulars' players on CnCnet 5. Lots of randoms online too. Hopefully we'll see a resurgence of C&C online gaming, at least for the freeware games.

I still have yet to give it a spin myself. I'm hoping to see some Firestorm games online, for once!
