Hello everyone. I am implementing friendly links in the forum. So, instead of a forum be something like https://ppmforums.com/index.php?f=42, we'll see things like https://ppmforums.com/forum-21/forum-announcements/ working (although the original index.php?f=21 one will still function). The same type of changes will work with topics (I.e.: https://ppmforums.com/topic-41391/spoiler/), posts (i.e.: https://ppmforums.com/post-540249/spoiler/#540249 and even user profiles https://ppmforums.com/user-5/banshee/.

This kind of URL allows search engines like Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Yandex, Baidu, and others to have an easier job to recognize sites with different content, instead of guessing which parameters of index.php provide relevant content changes. Also, the names may help these search engines to have a better idea of which topics should be relevant to the content it provides. Of course there are other things that should be done to improve it and any suggestions are welcomed here.

We'll be doing that, as well as provide proper sitemaps for robots.txt to improve our relevance on search engines. This service is partially done in the site. It's time to get this done in the forums. If you tried the friendly links above, you might have noticed that they are already working. The real problem is to make the forum use them. And that requires almost an overhaul in the forum software. So, if, in the meantime, the forum gets crazy once in a while or you get a white screen, please refresh the site or wait one minute. Sorry for any inconvenience and once the whole procedure is finished, we will update this topic.

Update: Hey guys, it seems we have concluded the friendly URLs implementation of the forums. If you find any bugs now, please post here, so I can figure out what's going on and fix it as soon as possible.

The next objective is to get proper sitemaps for the forums.
