Subject description: Need help with a custom model - colors/textures

About 2 months short of 10 years since I first and last posted here until now, but damn here I am. Hopefully some of you are still around here so I am not writing this for nothing.

I recently started playing Tiberium Wars again, also with a friend sometimes. We modded our games but I got my old idea again to get some custom models in, if possible.

This time I actually managed to do something, understand the basic theory of the process, though my expertise is questionable. In any case I managed to get a custom model in game but now I have other problems.

I made 2 separate test mods, same model, but one for each faction, also shorter time to build stuff so I can test faster. For GDI and NOD.

For both factions, the model colors reddish, though for NOD as you will see on photos, it is much better looking, as if it only has a tint to it, meanwhile for GDI it completely red. I assume it is about textures, more on this in conclusion.

For both factions, for model, I can't left click a single unit to save my life, I have no idea why or how, I can select a single or multiple units by dragging the mouse, that works fine. Again, single click select doesn't.

Lastly for both, model in game isn't "aligned" properly in 3D space if you know what I mean, you can see on photo anyway. I want the model when going in certain direction, to be rotated properly. Like when you use a Venom or an Orca, they face the enemy they are attacking or face towards where they are going. My custom model seems to be facing aynwhere from 30-90 degrees differently.

Photo links to see what I mean:

So basically, my questions.

I assume the tint problem and color problem has to do with my textures? I've read extensively on the textures that I need, pretty sure my color/diffuse and normal textures are fine. I am not so sure about my specular and gloss (NOD) or housecolor (GDI) textures. I was fiddling around yesterday like crazy, also reading up about the diffuse/alpha channel separation for the housecolor texture but I am not sure I am able to do it properly. I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to image editing.
I can upload my textures so you guys can see and check, maybe help.

I really have no idea why I can't left click a single unit. If anyone has an idea? I have the collision box, though not sure I really need it for a flying unit as Venoms for example stack on each other usually?

And lastly, I haven't tried rotating the model in 3dsmax yet in a different direction to test it out after exporting. It is just my guess that it might be the reason, will try it today, but if anyone has any experience about this problem I'd be glad to know. Maybe I am not aware of some fact that models are supposed to all face a certain direction?

Anyway I hope anyone still reads here and knows how to help. Looking forward to your replies.

Honestly the SDK documentation is painful to read and doesn't cover properly.

That said, I read the old topics like crazy, found the hidden gems of answers I was looking for. Regarding the click selection, turned out I didn't have the export for collision box as OBBox, so it doesn't get exported as a mesh + it gave me coordinates nicely.

Regarding the rotation, since I have only used the basic model (no animations), my theory was correct. Since the unit I tied it to was Venom for the moment to see if I can succeed even. So the animations of Venom were tying the model when it comes to which way it was going, managed to guess which way EA pointed the model and voila, that was fixed!

And last regarding textures, that was it, was failing first at AlienObject.fx, then for NOD and last for GDI. Then I used what I made for GDI at NOD, and the model texture work properly. Only thing missing is the housecolor effect as my gloss texture isn't proper, but honestly for my purposes it doesn't matter, not to mention can see on minimap. So I'll be damned but it worked.

I have a separate question now, because you mentioned those art packs. I took a look at the models, I also looked at Golan's Titan files. The animations don't have textures applied to them? I am supposed to just use basic model and apply no shader?
