OS .BIG Editor 0.583 has been released!
Subject description: High resolution textures now properly displayed!
With the release of C&C: Remastered Collection, we have got some feedback on how OS .BIG Editor handles the files there. And we have concluded that the previous releases of the program were incompatible with 32bits TGA files.
So, we have a new release of the OS .BIG Editor with the following features:
- Extract All window's size has been corrected.
- Creating a new directory when extracting files now updates the directory listing component at Extract All window.
- TGA reader from OS BIG Editor can now read 32 bits TGA files from C&C: Remastered Collection and other games properly.
So, that's it. Use this program to browse the .meg and .big files from this game (in this case, only .meg files) and many others games. Check the list of supported games here. And happy modding!
How do I extract sound files from these games with this program? I'm fine with the raw WAV files, I just am not sure how to do it with this program... _________________ Victory! QUICK_EDIT

Open the desired MEG file (any of the SFX ones or MUSIC.MEG) and go to Edit -> Extract All. The sounds are all WAV and VLC Media Player play them easily. QUICK_EDIT

Another update, guys. I've added every feature from this version to the public SVN version. So, the current 0.583 SVN has pretty much the same things this version does, except that it is 32 bits only and uses an old PNGImage library (in order to be compatible with older Delphi versions). QUICK_EDIT

I've been looking into that today. I think it might be easier to call a command line program to do that than writing a DDS viewer. Tomsons26 pointed me out at Thyme's DDS reader, but I don't know if the DDS from Remastered collection and other games covered by OS .BIG Editor are restricted to DXT1 and DXT5 compression only. other than extract asset can I put my own asset in to the file? for example I want to put sprite of 4k flame tank from TD to replace low res version of RA? QUICK_EDIT

Huh? Low res version? You can't replace the low res versions by high res art; they're read from the original SHP files.
Westwood left flame tank sprite inside RA1 where modder can use it by simply add image= FTNK and we still able to do that in CNCR only problem flame tank will only appear in low resolution version instead of 4k version. QUICK_EDIT
