Out of curiosity, has anyone managed to hack in VesselType (so that it works) in TS? I have never used it myself, but apparently it doesn't work atm.

no, there is no VesselType in TS
It was completely removed. Hacking it in is not possible or very hard since there is no source code for TS available.
