Tiberian Sun - Reform is intended to work as a 2nd expansion pack to Tiberian Sun. As such, it aims to keep the original Tiberian Sun gameplay and units intact, while doing the following:

- The Forgotten have been added as a 3rd playable faction, featuring 29 units and 17 buildings.
- GDI receives 8 and Nod 9 new unique units (such as the deceptive Projector, sneaky Shadow Hand infantry, devastatingly powerful Albatross Gunship and tactical EMP / Gas Mines).
- Both GDI and Nod receive 1 new superweapon that adds a new element to the gameplay (Supply Drop and Black Hand Training).
- Existing superweapons (Ion Cannon, Cluster & Chemical Missile) have been made more powerful.
- Nearly every unit has new, improved visuals.
- Nearly every unit has new unique voice responses.
- Countless new sound effects that make the weapons sound more powerful.
- 30 new music tracks.
- 60 new top quality maps created by the community (and adjusted for Reform).
- Balance changes to tone down overpowered units (e.g. Orca Bomber, Disruptor and Juggernaut), and buff underused units (e.g. Wolverine, Jumpjet Infantry, Attack Cycle and Stealth Tank).
- A much improved AI that builds alot bigger and better offensive and defensive teams and uses more varied and complex tactics.
- The AI will play as all 3 factions (GDI, Nod, Forgotten). All 3 difficulty levels are supported.
- Veterancy system has been overhauled so that every unit gains something useful when promoted.
- Bug fixes, visual fixes, and other smaller changes.

For a full list of balance changes, see this topic.

Currently the mod is designed for skirmish / multiplayer matches. The singleplayer campaigns have been disabled since they would need to be adjusted and redesigned for the mod. A future version of the mod might revamp the singleplayer campaigns by giving the Forgotten a larger presence in the missions and making all the new units available in them. Or possibly have brand new campaigns for all sides.

Tiberian Sun - Reform is a standalone mod. It's based on the freeware release of Tiberian Sun, and thus doesn't require you to have Tiberian Sun installed on your computer. It's OK to have both this mod and the original Tiberian Sun installed on your computer at the same time, it won't cause any problems for either one.
