While GDI and Nod are able to quickly deploy to combat zones anywhere around the world with their highly automated MCVs, the Forgotten rely on more conventional construction crews to build their bases. The Forgotten are often already established close to the combat zone, which makes it possible for them to compete against the much larger war machines of GDI and Nod. With the materials, machinery and forces already in place, the construction crews are able to set up forward bases relatively quickly. New construction crews are cheaper to purchase and can move faster than GDI and Nod MCVs. As civilian grade vehicles they are a lot more vulnerable to enemy attacks than the heavily armored MCVs.
