Setting up a mercenary camp allows you to hire services from elite Forgotten mercenaries. The camp is camouflaged and can only be detected by close by infantry or stealth detection equipment. The mercenary camp can be placed very far outside of the base, allowing it to better stay hidden from the enemy. The camp also doubles as a secondary barracks, allowing you to train ordinary infantry units from it. The mercenaries themselves though can only be trained at the mercenary camp.
