I just started playing TI again on a new computer, I want to pick up where I left off in the campaign without starting over. Are these save files for the campaign missions somewhere that I can download?

Doesn't TI allow you to load any mission like MO and DTA?

Trust me, when it comes to modding you're not supposed to think. #Tongue

It doesn't. I have been able to open the map files in the editor, I tried saving the last mission I was on as a custom map and launching from skirmish but it didn't work. I'm now trying to reorder the missions in the MapSel config file so I can start from the last mission I was on. I may be able to figure it out but no luck yet.

That's odd, I'd have thought TI would've gone the same route DTA and MO went and allow players to load all missions from the start.
I guess if they don't do it that way players who manage to get far can't be proud of their accomplishments, considering how hard the missions are on hard difficulty.

At the same time, it sucks if you ever have a drive failure.
But shouldn't the missions on easy be just that, easy? That way you can fight your way back to where you left off, and once you get there, start a new campaign with the difficulty you want, then load the mission you want to play at that difficulty. Lastly, go to "abort mission" > "restart" and you can now play the last mission on hard and the rest of the campaign on easy.
In any case, the save files are any and all .SAV files you find in your game folder.
Not sure how TI and the CnCNet client do it exactly, but I remember there being a folder called "save games" or something. That folder is never used by the vanilla game, just so you know.

You could select any missions in some previous TI version, but that was changed.

DTA doesn't allow it either for the 4 campaigns it has. Single missions that aren't part of a campaign are selectable individually.

Well, I'm not having any luck. Could one of you upload a save from GDI mission 10? I would appreciate it.

Hi Mr.Math,

Take this file and put it in the INI folder in your TI directory. Replace the existing file. Now you can select individual missions in the client menu.

Do note that if you play missions this way, they will not be able to proceed to the next mission, and will instead end with an "Unable to read scenario" error. This is why the option to select individual missions was removed, to bring back mission progression. Unfortunately it's not possible* to have both mission progression and individual mission selection.

To play the campaign with mission progression, select it from the top of the list.

*Technically it is, but it would require cloning every mission and campaign which is impractical.
