C&C Remastered+
Subject description: Bringing quality of life for a remastered game! Remastered.... pay attention to that detail.
Hello everyone! Last time we have mentioned cfehunter's patch to improve pathfinding and other things like rally points. So, with our improved radar of community mods that we have built here, it has been easier to track interesting mod. And, that's where RedAlert Remastered+ calls our attention.
This goal of this mod, on bothn its Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert editions, is to include quality of life features from other mods into a single package, as long as it does not alter the gameplay experience in a way that would transform a remaster into a remake. Of course, it follows a subjective feeling of the author, JeoD.
So far, he included the following changes:
Quote:
-Balanced resource growth (TD & RA) [ADDED via rules.ini (RA) and custom GrowthRate rule (kind of like RA's logic) (TD)]
-Additional Zoom Levels (TD & RA) by CCHyper [ADDED via XML files]
-Rename Attack Helicopter to Longbow by CCHyper [ADDED via csv files, optimally want to enable in DLL somehow]
-Rename Light Scout to Hum-vee by CCHyper [ADDED via csv files, optimally want to enable in DLL somehow]
-Unlock Helicarrier & Phase Tank by CCHyper [ADDED via ini files, optimally want to enable in DLL somehow]
-One-cell gap for base construction (TD) by FluffyQuack [ADDED to DLL]
-Modern Wall Building (TD & RA) by pchote [ADDED to DLL]
The source code is shared on GitHub, so you can start your DLL from there, instead of using EA one. If you have Steam, you can download it in your Steam client after you subscribe here for Tiberian Dawn and here for Red Alert. Enjoy it!
• Adds factory rally points (special thanks to cfehunter)
• Makes it possible to manually targetting aircraft with SAM sites and AA guns
• Enables force-fire for buildings
• Makes units react faster to incoming threats when in guard mode
• Enables Stop (default S) command for buildings
• Enables units to make queued waypoint loops if you make a path with Q-move and finally click on the unit itself (thanks to dkeeton for providing information about this)

Where are not working on adding support for the remasters. Me and Funky don't like them + too much work and impossible if they keep patching the game. QUICK_EDIT
All these mods does seem pointless without multiplayer tbh.
Yeah, I'm not overly fond of the multiplayer aspect now that I've grown accustomed to the additional zoom levels mods. I was hoping that they would see how many people are subscribed to simple mods like modern walls, zoom and other quality of life changes and then seek to implement them, though I know that's not a realistic thought. QUICK_EDIT
While I'd love multiplayer mod support and I think it'd be critical for the longevity of the remasters' multiplayer, I don't think the mods are wasted effort without it. Not only are the singleplayer parts of the remasters very fun and extensive, but there are also many people working on stand-alone versions of Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert based on the source code release. If the official remasters won't get multiplayer support for mods, then those stand-alone ports at some point will, and then their code can be enhanced with the code of these DLL mods. _________________ CnCNet Client | CnCNet TS patches | More Quality-of-Life Improvements for RA Remastered
Will check if I could fix that sell exploit while keeping the Stop feature. If I can't, I might as well leave it enabled because mods don't support multiplayer, and if someone really wanted to cheat in SP, they could just download one of those infinite money mods anyway.
